If you're returning to exercise, team sports or just want to know the current condition of your muscles, a Biomechanical Assessment at Origin may be exactly what you need.
What is a Biomechanical Assessment?
Simply put, a Biomechanics Assessment is a critical analysis of your body and all its moving parts, covering your entire musculoskeletal system from your toes to your nose. How your body moves can be the result of both genetic building blocks and both simple and complex movement patterns influenced by factors such as lifestyle, occupation, recreation, diet, sleep, injuries and more. A Biomechanical Assessment captures all this information and helps give you a detailed understanding of your body's current condition.
How does it work?
During your biomechanical assessment, your physio will have a discussion with you to find out what aches or pains you may be having, what your medical or injury history looks like, and what your goals are. From there, your physio will watch you move, sit, stand, reach, twist or do whatever your body needs to do to accomplish your daily tasks in an effort to put together a framework of your movement. This assessment allows your physio to understand what body parts and tissues are moving too much and what’s not moving enough, what’s tight and what’s loose, and what’s strong and what’s weak in order to create a comprehensive report and develop an action plan for you.
Who can benefit from a Biomechancial Assessment?
In short, everyone. We should all have a good understanding of how our bodies work and how we can keep them working at its peek throughout our lives. This is especially important for anyone who experiences niggles or long-term pain or discomfort frequently. The team at Origin are experts at addressing and correcting with Biomechanical Assessments.
